Pada 10-11 Oktober tahun 2020, konser online BTS bertajuk Map of the Soul ON:E tampil dengan lagu-lagu yang tergabung dalam seri Map of the Soul. Termasuk track-track solo member BTS, salah satunya Filter.

Filter rilis bersamaan dengan Map of the Soul: 7 sebagai lagu solo yang dinyanyikan Jimin BTS. Pada penampilannya di Map of the Soul ON:E, Filter menjadi salah satu performance yang paling spektakuler berkat choreography serta vocal yang Jimin tampilkan pada lagu solonya kali ini. Secara musikalitas, Filter hadir dengan memberi kesan asyik dan gaya bernyanyi Jimin juga alunan musik bernuansa latin yang menambah kesan unik dan sedikit menggoda.

Jimin mengatakan, "Filters can be the things within a camera application or social media, but it can also mean people’s perspective or prejudice.
